About

Bass Fishing Mastery is a site about one fish. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass, and nothing else.

It’s built on one idea: understanding beats memorizing. When you know why bass hold where they hold, why a retrieve speed triggers a strike and why a cold front shuts a lake down, you stop needing lists of rules. You read the water in front of you and adapt, trip after trip.

Who Writes Here

I’m David. I wrote Bass Fishing Mastery: The Complete Angler’s Guide, and I run the Fishing Hacks Daily page on Facebook, where I post new bass fishing videos every day and answer comments and messages myself.

I built the guide the way I wish someone had built one for me: no filler, no tackle-company marketing, no secrets held back for an upsell. The guide is alive, too. Version 3 added four full chapters because anglers asked better questions, and every buyer got them free.

How the Articles Are Made

Every article on this site is built from the guide. That means:

  • Specific numbers, not vague advice. Water temperatures, depths, jerkbait pauses, rod and line specs.
  • Seasons by thermometer, not by calendar. Your lake enters spring or fall when the water says so.
  • Honest limits. When a pattern only works in certain conditions, like night fishing on clear water, the article says so.

No article here is paid for by a brand. When a product name appears, it’s there for identification, because it’s what the guide recommends.
